Humanities Graduate Workshop: How to Write an Academic Cover Letter

This workshop is designed for humanities graduate students at any level who want to polish academic job materials. We’ll focus on the cover letter while also considering other job market materials (CV, teaching statements) as genres of writing to assess and navigate their conventions. We'll also talk about how to position yourself and your scholarship for a variety of roles, discuss how hiring committees read and interpret these materials, and practice a few strategies to help your letter stand out.  Students do not have to be on the job market to attend, and we especially welcome early-career grad students! 

This workshop is part of our series for humanities graduate students, where we'll discuss crucial topics for students in graduate humanities programming navigating their training and post-graduation outcomes. All humanities graduate students (MA and PhD) are welcome to attend. Those who register one week in advance will be provided with lunch.
